NOT RECOMMENDED
Meghana Foods, under the banner of the Naramada chain of restaurants in Sholinganallur, is a truly awful, almost unthinkable place that should be avoided at all costs. The sheer nerve of serving food mixed with what looks like human or possibly insect hairs—four disgusting strands, no less—is nothing short of sickening. This isn’t just a small mistake; it’s a clear, stomach-turning sign of their terrible cleanliness, complete disregard for people’s well-being, and an outright insult to the very idea of welcoming guests.
To make things worse, the management’s response—or rather, their weak, cowardly silence—only highlights their inability to care. A restaurant that fails to address such serious, nausea-inducing concerns with urgency and responsibility has no place existing in a decent world, let alone in the business of serving people. The service isn’t just poor; it’s an unforgivable shame, falling far below even the simplest hopes one could have from a roadside eatery, let alone a so-called restaurant.
Their carelessness extends beyond cleanliness to even the most basic, thoughtless parts of service. They lack the sense—or perhaps the effort—to add ice while preparing drinks like Mojitos and Lassis, forcing customers to plead and ask over and over for something so simple it’s almost funny. It’s as if the staff are either completely untrained, clueless, or simply enjoying their lack of care for people’s happiness. And if that weren’t enough, their billing practices are nothing short of sneaky and unfair. They randomly canceled the food bill based on their own whims, leaving customers feeling cheap, embarrassed, and small for having to haggle over items that should never have been charged in the first place—especially after losing all hunger and pride upon finding strands of hair in the food. This isn’t service; it’s a shameful trick.
And let’s not forget the serving staff—cold, unwelcoming, and acting as if customers are a bother rather than the heart of their business. Their unfriendly faces and complete lack of warmth make eating here feel like a punishment rather than a joy. It’s clear they have no interest in creating even a hint of a pleasant experience, further adding to the misery of visiting this dreadful place.
Anyone who expects basic cleanliness, stay away. This place is a health risk pretending to be a restaurant, a pit of carelessness, and a danger no one with a bit of self-worth should face. Save your money, your appetite, your pride, and your peace of mind—eat somewhere else,...
Read moreFood makes me remember my place as i get the same taste. If the hotel provides me some good discounts I would rather be a regular customer there. Nestled in the heart of the city, Narmada Chain of Restaurants offers an unparalleled culinary journey through the rich and diverse flavors of North Indian cuisine. Having recently dined at this culinary gem, I can confidently say that my taste buds were treated to an explosion of authentic tastes and aromas.
Ambiance: Upon stepping into Narmada, I was immediately captivated by its inviting and elegant ambiance. The restaurant's tasteful decor, inspired by North Indian heritage, created an immersive dining experience. Soft traditional music playing in the background added a touch of nostalgia, making it an ideal place for a memorable and relaxing meal.
Service: The service at Narmada was top-notch and commendable. The staff was exceptionally courteous, ensuring that every need was met with a warm smile. Their extensive knowledge of the menu and insightful recommendations were greatly appreciated, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Culinary Delights: The extensive menu at Narmada offered a plethora of North Indian culinary delights, and each dish was crafted with utmost care and precision. We started our gastronomic journey with the delectable assortment of kebabs, including succulent seekh kebabs and tantalizing tandoori chicken. The kebabs were perfectly spiced and grilled to perfection, setting the bar high for the rest of the meal.
Moving on to the main course, we savored a variety of curries, biryanis, and bread. The buttery goodness of the butter chicken, the aromatic flavors of the biryanis, and the creamy indulgence of paneer tikka masala were nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, leaving us in awe of the chef's skill and dedication.
The freshly baked naans and flaky parathas were the ideal companions to soak up the flavorful gravies. The restaurant's dal makhani, cooked to perfection with smoky flavors, was a standout dish that left a...
Read moreTotally disappointed with the taste. Briyani flop Meals flop
Thanks for your response, as you wanted to know what/why we doesn't like your food, pls see the below some of my expectations when we entered the restaurant.
First impression was told to be "Andhra food" Unfortunately no where in Briyani it was seen/served as Andhra style except the "raitha". Totally disappointed taste and texture. Two good pieces of chicken would not satisfy as Andhra style food. If you say that the briyani is not Andhra style your moto of restaurant says Andhra, chinese and tandoori. Or when ordered for briyani it should have been intimated that its not Andhra style. The gravy which was served for briyani isn't meant for briyani and it tastes like kurma. The fried onions in briyani spoils the base taste of the briyani. This type of briyani isn't a type of south Indian at all. The briyani typically tastes like arabian style or other region of Indian food may be and definitely not an Andhra style.
Boneless briyani served with kushka upon the boneless butter chicken gravy on it. Don't know what to say on this.
Coming to the meals, chicken gravy doesn't meet the expectations as it was just a chicken kurma. Chicken kebab/65 was like road side chicken pakoda. Podi and ghee the only aspect to show that it was Andhra food. Other items served with meals totally TN style.
Our humble request to you is, if it was Andhra style restaurant you can maintain actual style/taste and definitely there are customers for the taste of Andhra meals, briyani and so on.
We are from AP and settled in Chennai and the food that served was totally disappointing the style/taste of food.
Andhra briyani with juicy chicken with gogaku dalcha or vankai dalcha should be the style.
Meals, should change everything what it was served.
Apologies for writing so big or if I'm not good at reviewing the food or understanding your restaurant.
